A very intense palate and finish with dark red berry fruit and some ripe plum give way to a soft finish. This is the natural wine to pair with red meat
Vintage 2018 presented conditions that let the grapes develop into a particularly fresh style. For the winemakers, this has meant making a new wine, Anfora, with a fully varietal character and no interference from wood.
Made with the Tintilla de Rota varietal planted on albariza soils in the Pago de Balbaina, this wine ferments in clay jars naturally and spontaneously. Afterward, it is racked back into a new clay jar for aging for twelve months without providing any nuance of wood to the wine, only maturation and oxygenation. Production was greatly reduced to 6,000 bottles.
Tasting notes: Intense cherry red with tinted tears. Very floral and fruity nose, currants, blueberries. Herbaceous notes of aromatic grass, bay leaf, licorice, pepper. On the palate it is tasty, with a certain salty character, an earthy and slightly rough sensation.
